Monitor the Situation in Your City with Republic
Live in San Francisco, coming to a city near you
Introducing Republic, the best way to monitor the situation in your city. Life is busier than ever, but thanks to AI, it’s also easier to stay in sync with what’s happening around you.
With Republic, you can track political news, crime, permits, events, community groups, and more across the city and in your neighborhood!
Check it out here.
The city-level view aggregates the top political news stories from across the city, along with summary statistics for events, permits, and crime. Each neighborhood has its own custom news feed and recent data across all categories. For people looking to get involved, we also used AI agents to build a database of community groups in every neighborhood!
What you care about
News stories are classified by topic and relevant government entities are extracted, which lets you filter for the news you care about most.
You can also sign up to receive custom daily or weekly reports about your neighborhood and the latest political news from across the city.
AI coding changes the game
We shipped Republic with both a light and dark theme, and fully supported mobile view. Just six months ago, this wouldn’t have been feasible because of the effort required to develop and maintain them. Claude Code with Opus 4.6 has continually amazed me, and this is just one example of how much it has leveled up what we can do.
What’s next
This app and the Gov Graph are the foundational layers of a much bigger project in preparing government for the age of AI. If you can see where this is going, I want to work with you.
Qualifications: must be good friends with Claude and want to usher in an era of civic excellence unmatched since the founding. Hit me up. The future awaits.
